Ok... so, I have a secret addiction to the ridiculous show called "Toddlers and Tiaras." Do not judge me! Well, in my defense my DVR kicked the bucket which left me without the luxury of watching my favorite shows and NO COMMERCIALS!! I found myself drawn to this train wreck of a show for a few reasons:A. It is absolutely insane.
B. The parents are crazy.
C. It was like I could not look away.
So... I found it On Demand and watched about 10 episodes. I feel bad for these little kids with godzilla moms and dads pushing them to perform or at the very least dress like prostitutes to win prizes. The worst had to have been when one mother gave her daughter a "magic drink," aka Red Bull. This little girl was all of 6 years old, up at the crack of dawn for a pageant, and super cranky... so, mom gives her a Red Bull? Right! Great parenting right there!! I'm not even sure I recommend it... It is awful, yet I'm oddly drawn to it!
This is the second time this week someone has mentioned this phenomenon to me. I'm just going to have to refuse to watch it. I'm going to be that guy who can't help himself, and I'll end up going on a three day binge, watching every episode ever aired on Hulu.
ReplyDeleteResist.. urge... alright, maybe just one episode.
My family is so obsessed with this show!! Ha! It's absolutely ridiculous! And if you actually pay attention to it, all of the pageants are in this rinky dink middle school gym. The parents are mostly ugly, so of course they would put their cute kids in pageants so that they can show that the ugly trait hasn't passed down to the next generation. Not to mention the kids are either brats or way too full of themselves to be only four years old! Plus, the Red Bull is only half of it... how about the spray tanning and the fake eye lashes?!
ReplyDeleteI agree, awful... but addicting!
